Animals in Nepal
Nepal is a small landlocked country in the southern lap of the Himalayas. It is surrounded by India in the east, south and west and by China in the north. It occupies an area of 1,47,181 sq. km. which is 0.03% of the total land area of the earth and 0.3% of the total land area of Asia.
Climate refers to the composite or generalization of the variety of day to day weather conditions. In other words, climate is the average weather condition of atmosphere (average atmospheric condition) over a longer period of time. The climates are more or less similar over a large area. There is a similar type of monsoon climate throughout south Asia.
The study of climate is very important. Climate affects not only the topography but the life and activities of the people as well. For example, the people in warm and cool climatic region are involved in creative activities but the people in cold and hot climatic regions are engaged in primitive activities. Similarly, the people in equatorial region wear light clothes whereas people in Tundra region wear thick clothes. The temperature and rainfall affect the plants which grow in a particular place; the animals are also affected because animals depend on plants for their food. The temperature, animal and plant life will then determine how many people can live in a place and in what way they can live. For example, few people live in Greenland by hunting and gathering while many people live in tropical monsoon region by cultivating the land. Thus, climate is very important in not only human lives but also animal lives.
Because of some determinants of climate, there are some animals, birds, species are going to enlisted as endangered animals. There are some endangered animals, birds, species in Nepal as well.
For the mythologists, the physiographic and physiological diversity of Nepal makes its study both difficult and fascinating. The environmental gradient and variation of range permits disparate bird communities to flourish side by side with phonological components. The physical factors encourage isolation and differentiation of the bird population. Thus in spite of its small size, altitudinal variation, and barriers created by lofty high mountain, falling rivers and their wonderful watershed and plant community and ecotone developed therein have divided Nepal into many biotical discrete units.
